Just a few photos. I'm still gathering my thoughts and what not.
Picture near our hotel in Bogra, Bangladesh...I think.

This lady was at Mahasthangarh, a partially unearthed ancient city in ruins. She's selling some kind of meat and puffed rice (it was way better than Rice Krispies.
Quick pic in front of the replicated Nobel Prize Stage.

Mother and child.
I took over 400 photos so let me know what you want to see. More to come!

Thanks again to all who contributed to and supported me in my travels. I have safely returned to the US of A and am trying to have pictures uploaded and this blog updated this weekend. In the meantime, we got a little press! Article in Bangladeshi Newspaper. Enjoy and come back soon!
So I am ELATED because in a little over a month I will be in BANGLADESH! The map actually shows 3 cities we will be visiting.
Not only are my friends excited with me but they are totally behind me and have donated their money to help me get there
(Thanks Ash, Thanks Whit!).
I promise I'll take great pics! Mademoiselle M and I have toyed around with the idea of writing a travel book but I am once again convinced we should.
Would you read our travel guide once it hit the bookshelves?
What am I most excited about today, you ask? Airplane food served in courses!
(I'm a fat kid I know, lol)
I'm also creating a presentation as my final project to receive credit for the course. I have no idea what the topic will be yet because it should be something that interested you once you arrived.
$2055 down, $1845 to go by next week!

As many of you know, I have been chosen to participate in the "Microfinance in Bangladesh" Program with
Case Western Reserve University
,
Southern Illinois University-Carbondale
and the Independent University of Bangladesh
.
Not only will I learn about microfinance and visit a number of NGO's (non-governmental organizations) but I will meet Nobel Prize Winner and creator of the world changing Grameen Bank, Mohammad Yunus! I am ecstatic!

See our travel website SIU Bangladesh trip
To make things BETTER, I received My First Donation today with the help of the Chip-In widget on the right side of this blog!
Thank you so much Troy from Wisconsin. Your money and kind words help more than you know! :-)
Here's the thing, the trip costs
$3900 incl. airfare, food, seminars, fieldwork in 5 villages and study materials
$3132 3 credit hours
So the 20 bucks seems small in comparison but thats $20 less that I have to cough up.
In the meantime I may need to stop volunteering at the Free Clinic and pick up a part-time job but we'll see. Thanks so much for your support!

I cannot wait until I go to Bangladesh this December 27, 2008 - January 11, 2009! I've told some of my family and friends and they've just excited me more. I still don't know about the money situation but I know things will work out.

So, I love to travel. It's a new craze in my life but I love seeing how people live and famous sites. I want to go all over. In 2007, I studied abroad in Sydney, AU for 5 months and took a few pics.
See me in front of the Sydney Opera House:
And me petting 'roo at zoo:

And here on my 1st day:
So, I've developed a get-up-and-go attitude, well, on occasion. Yesterday I went to a study abroad meeting and guess what!? By the end of the 45 min session, I decided it was time to take off again. This trip will be a 2 week excursion around the world to learn about Microlending in its home. Read this short article to get an overview of Grameen Bank.
On the trip, we'll meet Muhammad Yunnus, Nobel Laureate Scholar, the country's Premier and people at several Non-Governmental Organizations.
Maybe you've guessed it, but I will be jetsetting to BANGLADESH on December 27 returning to the States on Jan. 11, 2009!!
To the land of this
and this
.
I've made the decision and thats half the battle. Financing the trip will be the other half. If you'd like to donate to this worthy cause, stay tuned. I do accept checks, cash, traveler's checks, gift cards, spare change and the like. :-D
